What exhibitors need to know.

The Emergency Services Show is the UK’s biggest event for the blue light sector, held every autumn at the NEC Birmingham and now in its third decade. It runs alongside The Emergency Tech Show, and together the two drew more than 16,000 visitors and 480+ exhibitors in 2026, with the Emergency Services Show alone attracting 10,792 visitors and 351 exhibitors. For 2027 the show moves to Halls 17–19 and adds a large outdoor area for vehicles, specialist equipment and live demonstrations.

Registration is free, and the audience is police, fire and rescue, ambulance, search and rescue, and the voluntary sector. The organiser reports that 60% of visitors hold purchasing power or directly influence procurement. They come to see kit working, compare suppliers and find solutions they can trust in the field.

Your stand has to prove your product will perform when it matters most. Both shell scheme and space only plots are available, from small presences to large feature builds. Planning a space only stand? Working with exhibition stand contractors who know the NEC stops being optional.

Why this sector is different

This audience buys on function, not flash.

The people on this floor use kit in the worst conditions imaginable, and the people who buy it answer for every penny of public money. Operational staff want to know it’s tough, simple and reliable under pressure. Procurement wants evidence, frameworks and value. Both are sceptical of anything that looks better in a brochure than in the field.

Kit shown the way it’s actually used, on a vehicle, in a scenario, in hands that can test it. Straight answers about which frameworks you’re on and which services already use you. Somewhere to talk properly with an operational lead and a buyer at the same time.

Why Rocket-X

Built around the kit, the vehicle & the real-world scenario.

We design and build exhibition stands for Emergency Services Show, from bespoke stand design to shell scheme and space only packages. We’ve built at The Emergency Services Show before, and we know what this floor needs. Two days of operational staff and procurement teams who want to see kit in action, not on a plinth, and from 2027, a new outdoor area where vehicles and heavy equipment take centre stage.

So we build around the kit. Stands are designed to take vehicles, heavy equipment and live demos, with the floor protection, access and structure they need, inside the halls or out. We can create operational settings that show products in context, practical demo space where visitors can get hands-on, and meeting areas where users and buyers can talk procurement together. Branding is clear and confident without overselling. Then we review what worked, so next year’s stand does even better.

We don’t build stands. We build the story your brand tells on the show floor. Every material, layout and lighting choice serves the narrative.

Heat mapping and visitor tracking available on request, plus a post-show review on every project. We prove what worked, not just what looked good.

LITE, READY and CUSTOM. Three clear ways to exhibit, three clear price points. You always know exactly what you’re getting, before you commit.

Your win is our win. We review the results together, and we’re genuinely invested in your next show being even better than the last.

How we work

From brief to build to debrief.

Designed, made and installed by one in-house team in Lincolnshire. You’ll see 3D visuals before anything is built, and one project manager runs your stand from brief to debrief.

Three ways to work with us

Pick your launch pad.

The venue

Exhibiting at the NEC Birmingham.

The NEC is the UK’s busiest exhibition venue, and a few of its rules change how your stand should be designed. There’s no storage on site, power and internet are ordered in advance, and anything overhead goes through the venue. We handle the logistics. Here’s what’s worth knowing for your stand and your team.

Vehicles on the stand need a plan.

Displaying a vehicle means agreeing access, timings and venue rules well before build. We plan the route in, the floor protection and the stand around it.

No on-site storage, so we can build it in.

There’s nowhere at the NEC to keep stock, literature or your team’s bags. We can build lockable storage into the stand itself, behind a wall or under the counter, so everything stays secure overnight.

Don't rely on the free Wi-Fi.

It’s fine for email, not for anything your stand depends on. We spec and order a dedicated connection for screens, demos, lead capture and card payments.

Order services early.

Power, internet, water and furniture are ordered through the venue and its contractors, and late orders usually cost more. We spec everything with your stand and order it well before the deadlines.

Hanging signs help you be found.

A sign above your stand is the easiest way to be spotted across a busy hall. It’s rigged by the venue and needs ordering early, so we can design it in from the start.

Get your team in early.

Exhibitors can get into the halls before the doors open, so that’s the time to restock and brief the team. Birmingham International station is next to the NEC and on-site parking is charged, so plan your team’s travel in advance.

We handle the logistics: plans, approvals, service orders, build & breakdown. You turn up to a finished stand & leave once the show's over.

Before the show

How to make an impact at The Emergency Services Show.

Two days, 550+ exhibitors across two shows and visitors who know exactly what good kit looks like under pressure. Here’s how to make the most of it, from first plan to next year’s booking.

01.

Show it in operational context.

Kit on a vehicle, in a scenario or in a setting that looks like the real job. Blue light visitors judge products by how they’ll perform on shift, not on a shelf.

02.

Speak to the user & the buyer.

Operational staff test it and procurement signs it off. Design the stand so both can get what they need, ideally in the same conversation.

03.

Be clear about frameworks.

Public sector buyers need to know how they can buy from you. Make your procurement frameworks and existing service customers easy to find.

04.

Use the outdoor area.

New for 2027, the outdoor exhibition area is built for vehicles, heavy equipment and live demonstrations. If your kit is big, this is where it belongs.

05.

Follow up with evidence.

Case studies from other services, trial offers and test data help a lead make it through procurement. Send them within the week.

06.

Rebook before you leave.

Many shows sell next year’s space before this one ends. Rebook, tell us your plot, and we can start on next year’s stand straight away. When we debrief the show, we’ll know what worked this time, so we can make your next stand work harder and give you better return on investment.

The smart way to exhibit

It gets smarter every time you come back.

We build exhibitions to work harder over time. By reusing and refining crafted elements across multiple shows, we reduce waste, retain what works, and make every next build more efficient than the last. Show one makes an impact. Show two builds on it. That’s how exhibiting should work.

Built responsibly

Good for your brand. Good for the PlANeT.

We build with reuse in mind from the start. That means fewer one-use builds, less waste, and exhibition stands designed to work harder over time. We use FSC- and PEFC-certified timber wherever possible and make smarter material choices at every stage. Because sustainability should be built in, not added on.

As soon as you've got your space booked. For an early-October show, that means briefing us by mid-July at the latest. 12 to 16 weeks gives time for design, review, revisions and production without rushing any stage. You don't need a finished brief to start. Your plot size, rough goals and a budget range are enough for us to tell you what's achievable.
You don't need a finished brief. You need your stand size or plot reference, a rough sense of your goals and a budget range. From those things, we can tell you what's achievable.
