What exhibitors need to know.

The Pharmacy Show runs annually at the NEC Birmingham. It’s the UK’s largest event dedicated to community pharmacy, and last year drew over 9,600 pharmacy owners, superintendents, dispensing managers and clinical teams, alongside 340+ exhibitors.

For exhibitors, that’s direct access to decision makers with budget and genuine intent to buy. This audience isn’t browsing. They’re there to find suppliers, evaluate products and make calls that affect how their pharmacy runs for the next 12 months.

Your stand is a commercial asset here, not a marketing exercise. Both shell scheme and space only plots are available, from small presences to large feature builds. Planning a space only stand? Working with exhibition stand contractors who know the venue stops being optional.

Why this sector is different

Pharmacists don't browse. They diagnose.

This audience is clinical by training and sceptical by habit. They’ve sat through a hundred sales pitches dressed up as something new, so they spot a generic stand fast, the same way they’d spot a misdiagnosis, and they don’t have much patience for it.

The stands that work here are clean without being cold. They create space for a conversation, not just a product display. They show enough to intrigue and leave enough unsaid to make a visitor want to ask a question.

Why Rocket-X

Built with the right bedside manner.

We design and build exhibition stands for The Pharmacy Show, from bespoke stand design to shell scheme and space only packages. We’ve built at The Pharmacy Show before. We know how buyers in this sector move around the floor, what stops them and what sends them straight past, and that goes into every brief we take on.

The stand that works here isn’t the loudest one in the hall. It’s the one a sceptical, clinical visitor trusts enough to stop at. So we design for restraint rather than noise. We can build in what pharmacy teams want to see, such as a semi-private consultation room, a counter to talk across, and platforms for dispensing systems and automation, with the power, space and access they need to run live. Screens show clinical data and workflow. Most exhibitors come back every October, and the crafted pieces from year one return refined for year two, so each show builds on the last.

We don’t build stands. We build the story your brand tells on the show floor. Every material, layout and lighting choice serves the narrative.

Heat mapping and visitor tracking available on request, plus a post-show review on every project. We prove what worked, not just what looked good.

LITE, READY and CUSTOM. Three clear ways to exhibit, three clear price points. You always know exactly what you’re getting, before you commit.

Your win is our win. We review the results together, and we’re genuinely invested in your next show being even better than the last.

Our work

How we work

From brief to build to debrief.

Designed, made and installed by one in-house team in Lincolnshire. You’ll see 3D visuals before anything is built, and one project manager runs your stand from brief to debrief.

Three ways to work with us

Pick your launch pad.

The venue

Exhibiting at the NEC Birmingham.

The NEC is the UK’s busiest exhibition venue, and a few of its rules change how your stand should be designed. There’s no storage on site, power and internet are ordered in advance, and anything overhead goes through the venue. We handle the logistics. Here’s what’s worth knowing for your stand and your team.

Build a quiet corner.

Halls get loud, and clinical conversations need privacy. We can design semi-private consultation areas into the stand from the start.

No on-site storage, so we can build it in.

There’s nowhere at the NEC to keep stock, literature or your team’s bags. We can build lockable storage into the stand itself, behind a wall or under the counter, so everything stays secure overnight.

Don't rely on the free Wi-Fi.

It’s fine for email, not for anything your stand depends on. We spec and order a dedicated connection for screens, demos, lead capture and card payments.

Order services early.

Power, internet, water and furniture are ordered through the venue and its contractors, and late orders usually cost more. We spec everything with your stand and order it well before the deadlines.

Hanging signs help you be found.

A sign above your stand is the easiest way to be spotted across a busy hall. It’s rigged by the venue and needs ordering early, so we can design it in from the start.

Get your team in early.

Exhibitors can get into the halls before the doors open, so that’s the time to restock and brief the team. Birmingham International station is next to the NEC and on-site parking is charged, so plan your team’s travel in advance.

We handle the logistics: plans, approvals, service orders, build & breakdown. You turn up to a finished stand & leave once the show's over.

Before the show

How to make an impact at The Pharmacy Show.

Two days, 340+ exhibitors and a floor full of people who can spot a sales pitch at twenty paces. Here’s how to make the most of it, from first plan to next year’s booking.

01.

Decide what a good show looks like.

Pick one number before you pick a design, whether that’s leads, meetings or orders. Pharmacy owners are spending their own money, so a stand built for “awareness” rarely pays back.

02.

Book the plot, then read the floor plan.

The education theatres sit on the show floor and pull steady traffic between sessions. Plots on those routes work harder than ones beside the entrance, where people walk straight past.

03.

Design for a conversation, not a pitch.

Clinical visitors want to ask a question, not be told an answer. One clear message, a counter to talk across, and less product crammed onto the walls.

04.

Staff it for Sunday & Monday.

Exhibitors tell us Sunday brings the pharmacy owners and Monday brings more wholesalers and commercial teams. Brief your team, and your literature, for both.

05.

Follow up before Tuesday.

Owners are back behind the counter the day after the show. Book follow-ups on the stand, not from the office a week later.

06.

Rebook before you leave.

Many shows sell next year’s space before this one ends. Rebook, tell us your plot, and we can start on next year’s stand straight away. When we debrief the show, we’ll know what worked this time, so we can make your next stand work harder and give you better return on investment.

The smart way to exhibit

It gets smarter every time you come back.

We build exhibitions to work harder over time. By reusing and refining crafted elements across multiple shows, we reduce waste, retain what works, and make every next build more efficient than the last. Show one makes an impact. Show two builds on it. That’s how exhibiting should work.

Built responsibly

Good for your brand. Good for the PlANeT.

We build with reuse in mind from the start. That means fewer one-use builds, less waste, and exhibition stands designed to work harder over time. We use FSC- and PEFC-certified timber wherever possible and make smarter material choices at every stage. Because sustainability should be built in, not added on.

FAQS

Costs vary by size, specification and complexity. CUSTOM bespoke stand design and build is priced to your brief. Tell us what you want to achieve and we’ll show you what’s possible. If you’d rather start from a package, our READY space only stands start from £8,995 and come in different configurations, so you can choose the one that suits your ambition. Our LITE shell scheme stand package starts at £2,995. Venue services like power, internet and rigging are ordered through the venue or organiser, and we include them clearly in your itemised quote, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Yes. Every stand Rocket-X builds for The Pharmacy Show is hired, from LITE and READY packages to CUSTOM builds. The structure is hired and reused on other projects, which keeps your costs down and cuts waste. Anything crafted specifically for your stand is yours to keep, or we can store it and bring it back for your next show.
Yes. This is a clinical, sceptical audience that spots a generic sales pitch fast, the same way they'd spot a misdiagnosis. A stand that just shows a product doesn't hold their attention. We design for a slower, more considered visitor: clean rather than busy, with space for a real conversation and enough left unsaid to make them want to ask a question.
Yes. Pharmacy visitors often want somewhere quieter to talk through a clinical question, see a dispensing system demo or discuss terms. We can design semi-private consultation areas, counters to talk across and screens for demos, with storage built in for samples and literature, so the front of the stand stays clean, open and easy to approach.
As soon as you've got your space booked. 12 to 16 weeks is the recommended lead time for a well-designed, properly built stand. That allows for briefing, design, client review, revisions and production without compressing any stage. Leaving it to 6 weeks or fewer limits your design options.
You don't need a finished brief. You need your stand size or plot reference, a rough sense of your goals and a budget range. From those things, we can tell you what's achievable.
