Prysmian

The brief

A design language that works whatever the show asks of it.

Prysmian shows up at four or five different events a year, each with its own crowd and its own job to do: awareness at one, leads at another, hands-on engagement at a third. The brief wasn’t to build a stand. It was to build a design language distinctive and reusable enough to carry across years and shows, one that could flex to a new objective every time without ever looking like a different brand turned up.

The brand

A century of keeping energy & data moving.

Prysmian’s been making cable in the UK for over a hundred years, based in Eastleigh with three UK manufacturing sites and part of a network that spans over 50 countries, 106 factories, 25 R&D centres, and around 33,000 people. Their UK range covers high, medium and low-voltage power cable, subsea and underground transmission, optical fibre, and data centre infrastructure. It’s serious engineering. The stand had to feel like it.

The build

One visual language, built to flex.

We moved Prysmian’s presence away from shell scheme years ago and into space only builds: greater height, real flooring, graphics bold and tall enough to make a complex system readable at a glance. A front-lit logo, consistent product displays and a modular kit of parts carry across every show, so a visitor who sees Prysmian at Connected Britain recognises them instantly at Data Centre World.

That consistency isn’t just a look. It’s what makes the whole programme sustainable to run and quick to adapt, show to show, sector to sector.

The details

Hands-on features that turn lookers into talkers.

  • Digital displays that break complex cable systems down into something a visitor can actually follow
  • Custom-built product displays at trade-focused shows like Screwfix Live and CEF Live
  • The Wiring Skills Challenge — a simple, hands-on activity that’s done more for engagement and recall than any screen on the stand
  • A shared kit of modular components, so the team can adapt fast when priorities shift mid-programme

The results

Consistency, measured show to show.

The numbers move with the event, a telecom-focused day at Connected Britain doesn’t compare like-for-like with a hands-on trade day at CEF Live. What’s stayed constant across three years is the pattern: strong engagement, better-quality leads, and a stand that gets recognised before anyone reads the name on it. We’re working with the Prysmian team to pull harder numbers into future case studies, results this consistent deserve to be counted properly, not just described.

Why it worked

A relationship, not a repeat booking.

Three years in, Prysmian keeps coming back to the same team for the same reason: we understand the technology, not just the branding around it.

“Prysmian values partners who understand both the technical depth and the mission behind our products. Rocket-X consistently deliver clear, compelling environments that translate complex cable technologies into meaningful customer experiences.”

That’s the job, really. Take something genuinely complicated and give people a reason to stop, ask a question, and remember the answer. Do it enough times, at enough different shows, and it stops being a project. It becomes a partnership.
